一场抢劫事件夺走了一位前警长妻子的生命。这个警长期饱受丧妻的折磨，他发誓找到那次抢案中的七个匪徒，并亲手杀死这7个匪徒。在他的“捕猎”途中，他帮助一对从堪萨斯旅行到加利福利亚的夫妇，而且同时他不得不面对一位他曾经亲手送进监狱的人……
